The team from DAM would like to congratulate our sister company Alto Aerospace on the recent award by the Met Office in partnership with Cranfield Aerospace for the operation of MOCCA, the Met Office Civil Contingency Aircraft.
The MOCCA is a H24 standby aircraft fitted with specilist atmospheric monitoring equipment designed to be luanch in the event of a Volacanic erruption. It will also be scrambled to operate in a range of situations where expert sampling of air pollutants may be required, such as oil fires like the one at Buncefield, ensuring the safety of those in the air and on the ground.
DAM and Alto are proud to be operating and maintaining this service on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority with the Met office and Cranfield Aerospace.
